All sections of Scouting take part in Challenge, Staged, and Activity achievement badges.

Activity Badges

Activity badges cover a wide range of skills โ€” from Cooking and Money Skills to Pioneering, Cyclist, Entertainer, and much more.
These can be completed during meetings or at home.

Challenge Badges

Challenge badges focus on key areas such as Skills, Teamwork, World, and Outdoors.
Each badge includes multiple elements, most of which are completed during meetings.

When all Challenge badges are completed, a young person earns the Chief Scoutโ€™s Award โ€” the highest award in their section.

Staged Badges

Staged badges progress throughout a young personโ€™s time in Scouting, covering achievements like Nights Away, Hikes, Climbing, and Swimmer.
They are numbered to show progress โ€” for example, Hikes 35 or Nights 20.

Where Do I Put Badges?

Uniform should be worn to all meetings unless leaders advise otherwise.
Badges should be placed on uniforms as follows.
